40 small hydro power plants are operating throughout the republic.

The generated electricity is

312.5 million kWh.

In addition, the construction of 37 small hydro power plants has begun across the country.

In 2025, 18 small hydro power plants will be commissioned.

The total output is 385 million 200 kWh.

The construction of solar and wind power plants with a capacity of 5624 MW is underway.

We have the potential to generate 142 billion kWh of electricity, but today we are generating only 14 billion kWh of electricity. We are using only 10 percent of our potential. Our water is simply flowing away.

I mean, in areas where small hydroelectric power plants are being built on a massive scale across the country, there are obstacles from the local population.

There have been cases of people blocking the road and creating obstacles for the builders, saying, "You are polluting our water."

Dear compatriots!

We are a country that imports 3 billion kWh of electricity from the source.

The price of imported electricity is

3 soms 50 tyiyns per 1 kWh.

Today, the price of electricity supplied to the people is 1 som 11 tyiyns.

We subsidize the difference of 2 soms 39 tyiyns from the republican budget.

Today, we spend 8.5 billion soms from the budget.

This money is the money of every Kyrgyz citizen, money received from taxes.

In order to eliminate such a crisis, we have begun the massive construction of small and medium-sized hydroelectric power plants starting in 2021.

In addition, the construction of the Kambar-Ata 1 hydroelectric power plant is beginning.

We are doing all this with the goal of “stopping imports and being supplied with electricity generated by ourselves, and exporting the excess.”

It is a shame that we are sitting on the water and buying electricity from other countries.

Therefore, every local government representative, please provide maximum assistance to small hydropower plants being built in your area, whether private or state-owned.

And I would like to say to local residents - do not interfere with construction work. Construction work is carried out during the day. Get clean water early in the morning before the water becomes polluted.

Be patient with the inconvenience for 3 months.

Construction work, if possible, will last 3 months.

The constructed hydropower plants will serve our state, you, and future generations for their entire lives. Therefore, do not arbitrarily interfere with construction work.
