To cast a batch of customized Francis 60KW units with the lost foam process

As from customer requirements, we has recently arranged to cast a batch of customized Francis 60KW units, which are matched with permanent magnet generators developed and produced by ourselves. The overall cast stainless steel shell is now in the mold prototyping stage, and will enter the physical stage after casting is completed in a few days.


This model casting uses the lost foam process. The main domestic names are "dry sand solid casting" and "negative pressure solid casting", referred to as EPC casting; the main foreign names are: Lost Foam Process (U.S.A), P0licast Process (Italy) etc. Lost foam casting is one of the most advanced casting processes in the world. It is known as a "revolution" in the history of casting. It is called 21st century green casting at home and abroad.


Lost foam casting (also known as real mold casting) is a foam plastic mold that uses binder-free dry sand combined with vacuum technology to create a full mold casting. Foam models similar in size and shape to the casting are bonded and combined into model clusters, and then painted with refractory paint. After drying, it is buried in dry quartz sand, vibrated to shape, and poured under negative pressure to vaporize the model. The liquid metal occupies the position of the model, and solidifies and cools to form a new casting method.


Compared with traditional casting technology, lost foam casting has the following characteristics: 1. Castings are of good quality and low cost; 2. Materials are not limited, suitable for all sizes; 3. Size 4, high precision, smooth surface, less cleaning, and saving on machining ; 5. Internal defects are greatly reduced and the structure is dense; 6. Large-scale and mass production can be achieved. Automated assembly lines are environmentally friendly. 7. It can greatly improve the working environment, reduce labor intensity and reduce energy consumption.
