A few days ago, the Boboli HPP, the largest hydropower station under construction in Côte d'Ivoire, closed the second phase of the cofferdam, and the closure time was about 4 months ahead of the planned construction period, which is of great significance for achieving the internal control goal of early power generation.

The Boboli HPP was surveyed and designed by the Capital Institute of Power Construction Corporation of China, and the EPC general contract of the Fifth Hydropower Bureau was designed in full compliance with European and American standards. As an important milestone node of the project, the second phase of cofferdam closure has attracted the attention of project owners, consultants, and local governments. Under the difficult conditions of the increase of the discharge flow of the upstream hpp and the high interception water level and flow caused by continuous heavy rainfall, the project department carefully planned and made full preparations, and finally successfully completed the second phase of cofferdam closure

The Boboli HPP is located on the Sassandra River in the Soubre Province of Côte d’Ivoire. It is the third stage of the development of the main stream hydroelectric cascade. The project site is located in the city of Soubre, and the upstream is the Subre HPP that has been put into operation. And complete sets of equipment, won the Luban Award. The main buildings of the Boboli power station hub include earth-rock dams, spillways, power plants, etc., with three 37 MW bulb-type tubular units installed, with a total installed capacity of 112 MW. It is planned to put the first unit into operation at the end of 2023, which can effectively alleviate the current situation of domestic power shortage in Côte d'Ivoire and promote economic integration and economic prosperity in West Africa.
